“Josh The Baby Otter” by Blake Collingsworth

This touching story follows a newborn otter named Josh as he learns to float and swim with the help of his new friends. Along the way, his mother, Clare, teaches an essential lesson — children should always stay away from water unless they are with an adult.

The book includes a link to a free app featuring an engaging narrated story and an original song titled “Learn to Float.” Children love listening and following along, turning the pages again and again. It’s a fun, valuable, and educational read for young audiences.

Written by Blake Collingsworth in memory of his son, Joshua, who tragically drowned in 2008, this story honors his legacy and promotes water awareness for children everywhere. Through this book and the foundation established in Joshua’s name, Mr. Collingsworth hopes to share a universal message: “Water is fun but only when we are all together.”
